Great,
My wife remembers those irons as a kid and she recently asked her sister to purchase her one in the Philippines,
They are still widely used in the Philippines.
Great job.

Anthony

Good looking handle. I've never seen an iron like that. My grandmother's were all cast iron, including the handle, and not as tall.

Nice work, Ivan. How old do you think that iron is?

As promised a picture of a brand new coal powered iron.
Made of cast iron, Widely used in remote areas and bought in the Philippines last week, off the shelf for about 23USD
Behind it is a pot also widely used in Philippines to cook rice on coals.
Regards
Anthony

EDIT: The new one definitly needs a new handle

I'm sure you gavethe iron more class with that handle than it it had when it was made. A treasure.
