Picture Frame

My girlfriend’s birthday was coming up and we had just gotten some pictures taken so I thought I’d make her a frame for one. I had never made a frame before, but what got me thinking of it was actually a coffee table. I was trying to come up with a design for a coffee table and found one on here using through tenons. I realized I loved the look and it stuck in my head for a while, until the picture frame idea came up. Now I realize I didn’t end up doing through tenons but the design of the frame went through many transformations. I don’t know what the actual name for this joint is but I have been calling them lap dados.

Anyways, there you have it. A frame with “lap dados” made of tiger wood and zebra wood.
