Got this pair completed just under the wire to end the year 2018. The wood came from my backyard tree which had seen my children grow up and also my grandkids. It had started to fail so I cut it down and after ten years in my wood cache I am starting to get a few boots out of the harvest.
The scientific name for this species of cherry is Prunus padus family Rosaceae, commonly referred to as bird cherry, hackberry, hagberry or in our area Mayday tree.
The boots are for a young cowboy, hence the name ‘Buckaroos’. The wood grain is ordinary and colour just plain so I added some flower clusters with my pencil crayons and with a wood burning tool I gave the vamp a dark background.
They are about 10 inches tall,

Time to ride! Let’s get going Trigger!!!

Happy New Year to all – the Bootman!

Beautiful, Roman. They remind me of my first pair of cowboy boots. What a diabolical invention, cowboy boots. Really bad on the back – men, even ten-year-old men aren’t built to wear heels.
