The Humble shed to a woodworker is a sacred place to dwell !!!
For years my Beautiful Wife has had issues from time to time of me disappearing into the shed !
Where the only whinning noise you hear is the beautiful hum of your power tools !
It is a sacred place for me , where I find myself enjoying an idea that started in my head & turning that wild thought / vision into something useful !
Such simple things are the pleasure I get from being in my shed !!
I fell off my chair yesterday when ”My Wife” asked me to Go into my Shed & make some more candle holders for xmas presents !!! I spent 1/2 hour in total shock , that she would utter such words to me !!
I think she realised , that finally I came out of it, with something she could use more of !!
She sat down last night & painted some of the candle holders & found she enjoyed getting involved with something that we could do together !!
The Shed is no longer the “Other Girlfriend” it is now the place that brings us together !!
The “Candle Holders” are nothing special , but special to us, because this Xmas , we will be giving them to friends & family , because it is something we have both created !!!
Have a great day all
Regards
Anthony

Great story and nice work. I always feel bad if my wife is home and I’m out playing in the shop. She always knows where I am when shes at work though. LOL
Jay Leno once replied to a question on how his marriage has lasted so long. “Simple, I don’t chase women, If my wife can’t find me she knows I’m with the girls. My cars that is.” makes sense to me LOL

I invited my wife to the shop, introduced her to the scrollsaw, now every scrap or measley portion of wood is tucked away in corners. I searched for one of my small jigs, and then asked where she got the maple for the round ornaments.

After we got married and combined househoulds, I redid her garage? so she could actually get her car in (tore
out a rotten wood floor and put concrete in for the car and wood for my shop. It also upped the value on
the property enough so that when we moved into our new? place it was paid for. I remodeled the new
basement and have made other improvements. I put a phone/intercom in so she can call me out in the
shop when supper is ready. She thinks the man cave is great, and her music room is just an added bonus.

Rivergirl, AWESOME SONG! Now I’ll be singing it all day!
My “Man Cave” is just a door way from my wife. She visits regularly.

Anthony, A great gift and even better that you two are able to work together on them. I am in the process of working on some gifts as well that My wife is doing the finishing on. It is a cool thing to be abel to talk about them and have use both be excited about giving them.
