Walnut platter 16” in diameter with decorative bead and chatter work. This is the photo with one coat of Mimwax wipe on satin poly. I will put 4-5 more coats on and then buff it out. I use a home made vacuum chuck to finish the bottom. At some point in this trees life someone used it for target practice. You can see the holes at the 5:00 ande 10:00 position.

That is a nice platter. Nice size too. I can turn 13 and 3/4’. I don’t often see wood in that width.

GREAT LOOKING PLATTER. BEAUTIFUL WALNUT. I THOUGHT I ALREADY POSTED SOMETHING ON THIS, GUESS IT DIDN’T TAKE, LOST IN CYBERSPACE. HOW DID YOU KNOW THEY WERE BULLET HOLES? WAS THERE LEAD IN THE LOG?

I’m also curious about the bullet wounds…..any close-up pictures ?
