Hall Table

I was at a local big box store. When I walked past the hardwood aisle, I could see a curly maple board halfway down the aisle. After buying the board I designed a table using all of the board. I wanted to add sprung breadboards but didn’t want to put the middle dowel where the boards were glued together so I put a small dowel on each side of the joint and used the double-dowel on the ends for consistency. The walnut is from a board given to me. The table is sitting by the front door and I love to see the morning sun shining on it. I also made a mirror frame to match.

Love it. The contrast in the wood highlights the maple figuration. Well done Brian

Yes, whenever I’m back at that store I go through the pile of maple looking for another like it.

Awesome entry table, gonna save it for future ref!

...you must have different BigBox stores than I do, none of mine even sell maple, let alone figured curly maple!

There is a local one that sells maple boards next to the red oak and poplar. That was the only time a I found a curly one. I’m sure it was mistakenly mixed in.
