Here is a mud locker I just built and installed this past week. Originally I built it as one piece, but at install time I was 1/2 inch to wide to be able to turn the cabinet to fit the space. I measured the space not the stair well. Lesson learned here. But I used my Freud ply blade in my circular saw and was able to cut the cabinet into two prefect halves. The Freud blade is really slick. Not a single fray. I made pocket hole round the outside edge and back. When I screwed the to piece back together, you could not see a cut line. I think I got really lucky with that fix. On to the mud lock…..it is 8ft tall by 43” wide. I used bead ply on the back and sides. top shelves are adjustable. The carcass is poplar, as well as the face frames. With the paint and trim , I was pleased with end result
