I have made five or six of these wall clocks out of various woods. The one you see here is made of figured hard Maple. I gave it to a good friend as a house warming gift.

I build them using nothing but vintage hand tools, no power cords to get in the way!

Love the clock, love the wood.
Hate hand tools.
As Patrick Henry said, “give me electricity or give me death”
In case you were wondering, Pat Henry is just a buddy of mine….....no one you would know.

I like the clock too, not too wild about the shiny look it has, most of the Brethren would be too.

I’m not Pat Henry, but I like getting a large charge out of my woodworking too. I’d be shocked if I had to do it all by hand, and my Doctor would probably worry about me more too. I definitely drink more beer after using hand tools, then I do with power.

Nice clock though, what are the dimensions?

Hi guys, and thanks for the kind words about the clock. And I sorry about your power tool addiction, maybe some sort of therapy would help?

The clock is about 20” x 8” x 3 1/2”. The 20” length includes the plinth on the bottom.

thank you! It is sort of my go to piece when I need a nice gift for someone who means a lot to me. The design, however, is not mine. That honor goes to Paul Sellers who is an English master woodworker.

I love clocks!!!!!

I have made several of this style of clock. I think I am going to design one of my own, and do something other than a shaker style. Perhaps a hexagon or octagon. Not sure yet.

That would be kewl. I’ve made quite a few different types, even a mini grandfather. I like your hexagon idea tho, can’t wait to see it.
