Those of you that the same “vintage” as I am will notice the turntable platform inside the box. My dad presented this platform to me an asked me to build a box around it. He had made a horse racing game that fit on the platform and need a box to hold it. A little recycled lumber and some shop scraps later …this box was born. We in the pittsburgh area are fortunate to have a great building arnd architectural resale shop in town. Construction Junction just happens to be about a mile from work and I pass it going to and from…. ...but I rarely stop there more than three time a week. :)
The top of the box is recylcle mahogany base board, the oak is from a 1×5 that a got there for two and a half bucks. ...the hinges and the handle were a quarter each. ...you never can tell what you’ll find ad CJ’s. ...from lumber to antiqes to plumming fixtures, hardware, lighting,or maybe a franklin stove. Infact…the other day I saw the old oak card catalogue from my alma mater “GO PANTHERS” ....there were over 1700 drawers. Yes, I do like CJ’s but no I dont own stock ..its a non-profit org. ....you need to check it out!

Nice new life for what might be scrapped bo another. Necessity is the mother of invention. Besides making a useful box, yours has history in where you got all the pieces. Thanks for sharing!
Do you have the game that goes on that platform?
