This is a quick project I did early this summer for my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday. Wood Magazine again, but this one was really fun. No, I didn’t make all the parts, but the ones I did make were out of popular…because of the painting. I did get to do some techniques and practice some things I don’t usually do (i.e. circle cutting). But I had a lot of fun and it came out great. I saw on someone’s projects the made the same ones, but with natural finish. If you have a little one around I recommend making one this was a blast to build and my granddaughter loved it.

It was cedarfreakcarl who made the natural one.
Great job.

Nothing more special than a hand made gift for the family. Very nice.

Now that’s a nice toy! Don’t even have to worry about whether it’s got lead paint on it ;^D
Nice work.

That looks great! The colors are vibrant and it looks like a factory finish!

Thanks guys!
Todd: Yeah, the paint job was just spray paint from Home Depot, but I think what was key was they way the article showed how to use jigs to paint the parts. Common sense…nothing I would have thought of..LOL.

Debbie. A mother was looking for some state funds in order to get a residence and she said that her young son was having his birthday in 2 days. He then spied the Caterpillar in April’s office and he found a new home with the young mother and her son.
So we are delivering a new caterpillar to April next Thursday the 13th.
That’s the last of the 105 of them that we made.
