Once I finished the bed I started on the night stand. I wanted to use the same “theme” I used for the desk, that is, 2 7/4 legs joined to the table top through the aluminum cylinders but my son insisted he wanted a couple of drawers for socks etc. So I we came to this compromise of leaving a gap between the top drawer and top that he could use to put his books . Same red oak finished with polyurethane. WIth the desk, bed and nightstand completed I am starting to work on the chest of drawers. I plan the sides of the carcass to be 7/4 red oak and to use aluminum strips as I did with the night stand and desk but I won’t be using aluminum cylinders.

This is cool and very different. I like it when people build in different styles other than the tried and true(also beautiful)
