I have 4 daughters, and only two had been given bandsaw boxes. So since Thanksgiving dinner wasn’t until 5:00 PM, I spent Thursday morning making two more boxes for the late November and December birthday girls. This was my first time using Walnut, and I have to say I just Love this wood! When you put the finish on , it just takes on the most beautiful color, and has a beautiful figure to boot! The other layers are quarter sawn white oak and red oak. This was the first time I put a contrasting color on the front of the drawer. That is why I put the QS white Oak as the second layer, so that flecked grain would be on the drawer front. I used walnut again for the handles. It is finished with spray on lacquer. The pattern is Phoenix from Lois Ventura’s book. I really like how this one turned out. Even more importantly, so did my daughter! Thanks for looking.

Another success, Good Stuff Buddy! Also, I like how you showed the box this time without the recipient, otherwise, it gets hard to concentrate on the box!
