Lantern

I am poorly imitating a lantern that a friend of mine made from plans. They look similar to the one that is 3/4 finished in the picture. A candle holder goes inside and is lifted with an attached dowel. The picture is of the first one I was making. I was wondering if anyone knew of this project and if they could help me find the plan. I looked around for the plan but apparently not well enough.

I have also made my own version of The Wood Whisperer pencil holder. I made one out of walnut with a ¼” cove on the base and inlayed a university seal. It made a great graduation gift. I have also made them out of poplar which I painted with craft paint and attached them to an oak base, also with the cove. Sorry no pictures, I gave them all away already. I am currently making round two. The girlfriend says I need to find another project besides pencil holders, keepsake boxes and lanterns.
