Mesquite slab that was a cut off from my river table. This will be an end table. Don’t know how we got two pictures.

Had insert a 1 1/4” dowel to stabilize it and make a dam for the epoxy. ....it still leaked. The maple Dutchman covers the end of the dowel.

Nice one Gene. I still have some of that mesquite from Dragoon. That was a while back now.

Paul, I’ve been getting my mesquite lately from Dead Tree Salvage east of Casa Grande. We’ll be down for Christmas. If you’d like, we could arrange a trip up to CG. He sells pecan, pistachio and some other native woods, too. And he’s way cheaper than Toltec.

Good work Gene,

As for the two pictures, who knows what is going on with the website, I do know however I actually got an email notification advising of your post, so something must have been “fixed”.

Next thing I am expecting I will get a post abouts pottzys new saw!

Leaks: tape it up from underneath with painters tape or a similar product, interesting how epoxy manages to find a “hole” not imediately visible at the time.

Thanks, Rob. Tape was used and some holes were plugged with Durahams. Apparently not all, though. Mesquite offers a number of challenges. Ya never know what’s lurking inside. Sometimes, they crawl.

Nice table from the left overs, Gene. Did John Goodwin tell you the story of the fork table he made for a lady out of mesquite and a week later she called and said she heard the worms in inside eating at night.

I’ll be in Casa Grande on Dec 27th for the winter. If you are coming to town any time, give me a call. The sale on inlay material at Fred Thiel’s place in Gilbert is near the end of Feb. If you want to know the dates you can call Fred at 480-390-4436

Cheers, Jim

Thanks, Jim.
That’s funny, Jim. And, totally believable, too.
