Here is an old Mississippi delta way to make some homemade music. One cigar box, 21-8 penny finish nails, four guitar strings, some old fender tuners and a board of a pallet. Oh I almost forgot an allen rench.
Thanks guys.
One of the guys at work asked me to make one about a year ago. I started gathering parts and pieces. One of the local firemen donated the box. Which is empty but still opens for future electronic installments. The traditional one has 3 strings. I was given 4, so i installed 4. I am not musically inclined. When i gave it to John this morning he informed me i stringed it backwards. Oops. So I told him to play it left handed. He also didn't want a sound hole or any electronics installed. He re-stringed it and it tuned up and sounded good to me. Better than i would expect. I had a blast making it. The worst part were the frets. It sounds better played with a glass slide. As far as the scale length. I found an acoustic and matched the layout of the frets. I tried.
