Project Information
I was looking around for gifts to build for my nephews this Christmas. A friend who is runs woodgears.ca told me that someone had requested one of his jenga pistols. He doesn't have the time to build them and suggested I might make a couple of them. I thought I'd kill (they're harmless) two birds with one stone. You can buy the plans at
http://woodgears.ca/
or you can probably figure it out on your own. I just made my first video and uploaded it to YouTube,
The idea is to use the pistol to knock out jenga blocks that are stacked on top of each other. See the other YouTube videos.
Constructed of cherry with some brass bits. The trigger is attached with a peened brass rod. There is a 5/16th spring and dowel used to cock the trigger mounted in the handle. I reinforced the nose piece with a rosewood dowel. This part takes a lot of shock. A fair amount of interesting handwork planing and tweaking the parts.
