When I got my new table saw it arrived on a pallet. I had this idea of putting together small pieces of different wood for a wall unit/decoration. I took the pallet apart and cleaned up the wood and was pleasantly surprised to see the red oak and what I think is pine. I added the mohogany between alternating oak/pine slats and made one small shelve to hold the Tivoli Radio that I bought for my wife. The pieces are glued onto a sheet of plywood and mounted onto the wall. The piece is finished with a couple coats of polyurethane. The 2 pieces on either side of the unit I painted a couple of years ago just before I got into woodworking. I plastered over the 2 inch pine stair treads that i recycled before painting.

Looks like it will hold plenty of items. Make sure it’s anchored down before adding too much weight.

Great idea and congrats on reusing the wood! It should remind you of the saw everytime you look at it!
