Flame Maple Rolling Pin's

A friend recently approached my brother and I about building some rolling pins for his businesses office Christmas, which, as is visible, we agreed to! (: It was a lot of fun getting back to the lathe after not having much time this last summer. The rolling pins are have a 3 1/2” diameter 20” long. This friend also requested three silver letter openers, which are in the last picture. (Also made of flame maple.) It is a blessing for us to have a hobby like this; as teenagers we feel quite privileged.

I would also like to give credit to two others, as this job was impossible for me to accomplish by myself. These two are my brother Joel (http://lumberjocks.com/JMillerWoodworks), who did just as much of the turning as I did, and Mr. Matheny (http://lumberjocks.com/rustfever), who kindly gave us the beautiful flame maple and also his expertise in the area of turning. Thank you, we really appreciate your help!

The wood is so awesome, and with your combined workmanship the pins and letter openers turned out beautiful.
