I bought a Wood Slicer bandsaw blade. I wanted to practice resawing so I used a couple of old pieces of firewood. The blade cut so smoothly and wih uniform thickness that I decided to use the wood rather than burn it, hence the coasters. The wood is spalted silver maple and wild cherry. It’s finished with tung oil and paste wax.

You just gave me an idea for this weekend! Very nice and something someone will always ask about when they visit.

I agree with nordichomey; the coasters look great, and it gives me a weekend project idea, although the firewood I have is pine and birch…
