Just a few Christmas Cutting Boards

During the summer an old friend asked me to make a cutting board for his daughter. Many years ago he had made boards for his sisters and his oldest daughter. His youngest was too young, he thought, to need or use one. Well the others still have their boards from all those years ago and the youngest likes to tease him about never getting her board like the others did. So I made a board for him to give her.

That was the start of a lot of work. Soon after he asked me to make three more, one for his wife, one for the older daughter, and one for the daughter in law. All was good.

Then someone saw one of those boards and wanted me to make one for a wedding gift for a wedding she was going to. Done. Then another lady saw that board and wanted to know if I would make one for a wedding gift for a wedding she was going to, Done too.

Now these gifts are for the the youngest daughters in-laws because they have seen her board and they want one too.

If I had the time I might go into this board making full time! I make my boards about 12 X 20, and start at 2 inches thick. They are a little less once they are re-glued and sanded smooth.

Thanks for looking!

Oh, the boards are Walnut and Maple, Maple and Walnut, and the last two are Maple and Jatoba.

Very nice board. I like that style. And they are addictive.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

DD, yes they can be addictive, trying to figure out how to make a new design.
