Nice turning! Just a question..how did you hold the two halves when turning the center? Did you turn a spiggot on both halves for use in the chuck??

Yes made of apple,I use a tennon on each end turn as much outside profile, split halves, and turn inside. Tape top back onto the bottom held by it’s tennon, then remove the tennon from the top and finish.
