Bread and Oil Boards

Here are some Bread and Oil boards that I produced. Three are made of maple and cherry and the other is maple and walnut. I found the handles at Lowe’s and the small bowls at Target to pull this all together. They are 18” long and 5.5” wide. A small recess was drilled under the bowls to keep them in place.

Many thanks to Ellen (http://lumberjocks.com/projects/39636) for the idea!

Enjoy and your comments are welcome.

Those look great may have to head to target, allready have the handles. These are my favorite handles I think I have 20 or do just waiting for a project to put on. Guess this will be it.

Thanks for the insperation; now if I just had somebody to push me into the shop to actuall make something! lol

Looking good! Are these gifts, or are you selling them? How did you finish them?

Great boards!! I love the design and wood combination. I’ll be making another 6-8 next week as gifts.
Everyone loved them!

Thanks for the great comments everyone!

Jonathan – I’m entering into my first craft show in a couple of weeks so the plan is to sell them. If they don’t sell, they may end up being gifts. The boards are finished with mineral oil.

Ellen – Great to hear that they’ve been well received. And thanks again for the idea!

I have similar boards in 7 stores myself. Small shops love the “local” products.
Great boards, Good Luck!!!
