Last Saturday my son wanted to make a bookstand for his girlfriend. I helped him a bit but he did most of the work. You can see a video of this at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOZ6i4Nwecw
While he was doing that I made a little stand good for pictues, plates or this marble plaque (my sister we lost to cancer, memorial golf tournament). Both made from red oak.

great projects! and the best part is doing this work with your son!!! I always wanted to get my step son in the shop…never happened…
