Not “fine woodworking” but fine sound. New 15” Bass-bins and Dual 8” Mid-bins for small shows. Will be topped with Yamaha 4201 horns in new smaller cabinets. My “mini-stack”, bass-bins are 21” cubes. All cabinets are 3/4” birch plywood covered in black carpet, butt joints with 2-1/8” trim-head screws every 2” around, lots of glue. Acoustic foam covering the inside of the cabinets. I tried to keep them small enough to get in car (along with light enough for this old coot to load/unload and carry around). Driven with with 2 Behringer 1000 watt amps in small 4 space carpet covered racks. Forgot to get a pic of the racks, but there are 2 of them, 7” ID, 21” Wide OD, covered in black carpet to match speakers. each rack will have 1 amp, along with a crossover in one and an EQ in the other. Will use for DJ shows or anytime a small system will do the job. They really kick ass, lots of thump and the mids are really mellow. Plan to cross them over at about 250 and 2500 or so. The bass-bins are corner ported but the mid-bins are sealed. Just threw the little dual piezo horn on top of one mid-bin to play tunes outside while I was hanging xmas lights. The mid-bin really makes a great sounding general purpose speaker and were very loud driven by a small stereo amp I play the xmas show music through. Plenty of low-end even. Plan on running 1 bridged amp on bass-bins and one channel of other amp in each mids and highs. I used the bass-bins at a DJ party in October and they had lots of oomph. Can’t wait to try them out in a large room. Not as good as my 18” EV Subs but pretty good. Anybody need a DJ show give me a shout! I also have 12 LED PAR lights and a DMX controller.
