The gun rack was built out of ruff cut hickory, we had to plane it down to 3/4”. We also made the jigs, for the racks and the top board out of 3/8” plywood we had lying around the shop. The very first one that we made was out of cedar, but my wife took it and gave it to her dad for Christmas. ( still waiting on payment ) The first one we built was cut out with a bandsaw, and we had to sand it with the sander. the one pictured here was done on the router table, much easier than sanding.

Will you stain it? I think (personally) I’d leave it natural with that interesting pattern.

it is stained, it is cherry. Hickory is almost white
