Tis the season for Christmas gifts. I liked the plan provided in the July 2009 issue of WOOD magazine and made a pair of votive candle holders as gifts for my parents and grandparents. (Shhhh, don’t tell them!) I love scrap wood projects where we spent more on the votives and candles than we did on the wood! Woods used are mahogany (I think) or Oak. Walnut was used for the legs on both projects. The finish is a few coats of polycrylic.

Great job, like the flow of the lines. I must have missed this in Wood. Legs look great with curve, how did you attach them? Green & Red candles to boot, thats the spirit.

Great pair of candle trays!

I especially like the mahogany/walnut one.

Those are really nice.
Can I borrow the design?

Thanks for the nice comments.
- Ken, the legs are just attached with wood glue. They aren’t going to see a lot of weight, so the glue should be enough.

- Jamie, I didn’t come up with design, that was the people at Wood Magazine.
