This is my take on the classic wooden snake puzzle. Purchased ones generally range in size from 2” cubed down to key chain size. This one is 4.5” cubed. Although time-consuming and somewhat mind numbing, it wasn’t very challenging to build. However, you will need to pay attention to the build and assembly instructions.

I love the puzzle, but it certainly is a lot of work. Your directions and video are top notch! They’re even precise enough for me to be able to follow. If I could sell them for about $100 each, I could probably make minimum wage!! (I’m pretty slow.) Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. You are totally correct. After about 15 minutes of working on it, I was like WTF, I still have 26 blocks to go! As you can see, I did beat my way through it…I’m slow as well. I guess there is a reason that purchased ones are produced in China.

I did think about making it out of nice wood at a smaller scale but I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. I’ll leave that experiment to the expert woodworkers.

Looks like a fun toy once it’s done! If the grandkids play with it, it’s worth the time.

Yes, it is pretty fun. For kids under 16 or women, you might want to scale it down a bit. I think 1” cubes (vs. 1.5”) would be easier to handle.

Thanks. Yep, it was a lot of work. Because of that, I think I’ll print the next version :)
