OK, you wanted to see what I was able to do with the scraps of bamboo plywood that EROCK gave me. THANK YOU Erick for the gift of the wood. Well, here are some pics. I ripped them into strips, turned to end up, glued them and then ran them through my drum sander. They are coated with 3 coats of heated mineral oil and then finished off with a coat of heated mineral oil bees wax mixture. Added some strips of maple to the one and turned it into a cutting board/serving tray. Let you know if they sell this weekend. My wife seems to think they will. Comments and questions always welcome.

Now that is sweet.
The maple really adds to it.
Can you just use TBIII for glue?

I like ‘em,
Steve

Jim, These look awsome. I love the contrast between the maple and bamboo. I am green with envy.

Yes I did use TBlll. Eric also stated that the glue used at the factory was formaldehyde free so no health risks. I had another one that had some strips of barzilian walnut (like I did with the maple) but sold it this weekend. My wife likes it so much that I may have to go purchase a sheet of bamboo. I am afraid that it is VERY $$$$$$.

Very impressive! Let me know if you want a sheet and I’ll get it for you at my cost.

dakremer – the one with the handles I will ask $50 (handles are spendy, almost $5 ea, have to find a cheaper source online if these turn into a hot item). The smaller one I will ask $30.

When using this plywood I found that there was still voids and I just mixed up TBlll and sanding dust from it to fill the gaps. On the lighter bamboo I will have to use superglue mixed with the dust because TBlll drys dark and stands out. Also, since it is plywood, I sometimes found spots where the glue from the laminating was sparse and it was seperating so I used super glue on these spots to bond them. Once oiled you don’t even see the super glue.
