Okay… I know these are probably thought of more as “craft projects” then woodworking, but I DID cut them out on the scroll saw before painting them, so… they are! ; ) These are just made out of some scrap MDF that was laying around….I think it was used to cover up a work bench at one point, because there were alot of cutter marks on the piece. Nothing that a little sanding couldn’t take care of : )

I like tole painting just as much as carving in alot of ways…..they’re both fun and relaxing for me. These were good scroll saw practice too! As I went on from ornament to ornament I was able to get much better and more precise with cutting out the small details. Anyway, I still have a Christmas Card holder and 2 more ornaments to finish, so that will keep me occupied for at least one more weekend. Just wanted to share a little bit of what I’ve been working on lately.

Thanks for looking! : )

Hey, k-girl,
Those are awesome, and anything with wood or wood products, in my books, is woodworking!
Merry Christmas!

Making things with scroll saws is just as much woodworking as anything else in woodworking so don’t feel bad about that. Hey, I think those Christmas ornaments are very special, k-girl. The patterns are wonderful and your painting is very nice. You did a good job on them so keep up the good work.

You cut them with a scroll saw, so totally woodworking!

Those are very cool and the animation is pretty darn cool too. Drawing, cutting, sanding, and finishing sounds like woodworking to me.
