I built this door for a buddy at the firehouse. They use it as their master bath door. The door is 40” wide and 87” tall. The boards are about 7/8” thick. I shiplapped the parts to make sure that if the boards shrunk you would not be able to see light thru the door. It’s a very heavy door. The black bolts one the rails are decorative. It is assembled with screws thru the back and the holes plugged. It is finished with BLO.

Absolutely beautiful, you did a fantastic job on this. The grain matching, finish, hardware, excellent!

Thanks Jerry. The wood is all from the same tree which helps.

Hey Jeff, how’s it? This was a really nice walnut tree I got before I had the mill. Took it to a local mill that I used to frequent.

Bill, busy here, mostly work things, we’re growing and opened a second location, been generating a few false fire alarms that has the local FD asking questions! Lot’s of sleepless nights, but we’ll get it all reined in…..I hope. I have always worked closely with our fire inspector and he is being cool about it, but it’s a challenge. Long story…...had a weekend cleaning crew in and shorted out a bunch of heat sensors.

That is a really nice walnut tree…....

That’s a great looking door. Love the Walnut. (and your selection of boards)
Rollers seem a little close,
but with the arch I suppose it’s about the best you could do.
It shouldn’t affect the door rolling.
I like the bolts for decoration…..Great work.

Thanks. I built the door. He hung it. I told him he would have a problem with the hangers, but he really wanted the rounded top.
