Little sleigh

A while back I made a little sleigh. I wasn’t really happy with it so I asked for advice from my friends on lumberjocks. http://lumberjocks.com/topics/291937

Since then life threw me a curve ball and I have not been in the shop at all until recently. I took all the advice I received on my forum topic and made a new prototype. This is what I came up with.

I added the curved runners and a dowel between the fronts. A little paint and now I like it! A simple little project that was a lot of fun to do. I have several in the works and think they may make nice gifts. It’s seven inches long and three an a half wide. All made from recycled shelf lumber. Thanks for looking and it felt good to be back in the shop for a bit.

I like it well.

I understand the withdrawal too; been there—no choice of my own though!

The curved runners on this gives it the perfect look. You’ll be dashing thru the snow soon. Fill it with candy and it will disappear as fast as presents.

Thanks hairy, Lee and Ken. This is a great project to get my feet wet and back in the groove. My shop cat Zoey is even happy to be back in the shop with me. All the wood I have usable right now is old shelf wood I been planing back to 1/4 and some box elder from Rich. I need a trip to the lumberyard!
