Beautiful job tig. I do like the way the vanity doesn’t extend to the floor like a traditional vanity. Great job.

Spectacular! I love the balance between modern, functional and warm. Integral downlights, leaning mirror, blade shelves…... just awesome! I’d love to see a photo of the finished piece from the front.

Thanks, Fritz, and everyone else. The mirror is actually mounted now. This was taken just as the room was nearing completion.

Looks good to me. I like the floating look of the vanity. Nice place to kick off your shoes and hide them under the vanity.

That’s really beautiful. I’d love to have something just like it in my bathroom. Out of curiosity, which magazine did you find the plans in? Might have to take a look myself.
Congrats!

Took me a little bit of head scratching to remember where it came from, since I gave the magazine and plans to a friend, but I found it! http://www.workbenchmagazine.com/main/wb298-onlineextras.html
You’ll see that the plans are there for free. :D
I pretty much stuck to the plans. For the doors, I just cut some 1/4” frosted plexi. It cost about $40. I will admit that I didn’t go to al the work of cutting out stops for the panels, I just siliconed them in.
My wife ordered the pulls from somewhere, but they are quite similar to the ones shown here.
For the valance, I pretty much stuck to the plans. But by that point, I was tired of edge banding, so I mitered it together, I think it looks much nicer that way. The lights actually came from Home Depot or Lowes, and dont require a transformer. They plug right into a 110 outlet. Since I had redone all the drywall in the room, I installed an outlet right behind the valance and wired it to a wall switch. Plug in lights, and voila! done. I haven’t even bothered closing in the valance on the top because it can’t be seen. Only reason to would be to set “decorative” type stuff on it.
I was surprised at finding this in this particular magazine. It’s definitely not Fine Woodworking. Has a lot of articles such as “tools for girls” and what not. But, it had exactly what I wanted, so no complaints!
