Finally finished, Last week Dick (recycle 1943) beat me to it.. Just like he did the week before that with the resin bowls LOL I actually started my lamp before Dick started his but Dick is retired so… LOL again… Plus I swear he has some magic polyurethane that dries instantly or he has a secret he’s not sharing… HA HA I realized the first shade I made didn’t have enough resin rings (last 2 pictures) so instead of using Dick’s patented wedge scallop design I made a blank for the Ringmaster and drilled various size holes in it and filled them with resin. The way it came out makes me think 1950’s art deco style. Next I’ll be making pendant lights with wooden shades and epoxy resin.

Michael, both shades are attractive but I think I prefer the Art Deco design and although I saw the base before I never looked at it until now, I really like the lamp base.
With the shade and the resin accented base, I do believe you’ve hit a grand slam.

That is not “shady” work by any means!

Great Job—that will look great wherever you put it.

Thanks! I’m going to make a hanging pendant light from the first shade

These are really cool. I think I like the second one the best, just a matter of personal taste – they are both great and can’t wait to see pendant lights!

Cool techniques, you really opened up the color pallet selection!

The second lamp reminds me of sunsets…

Have your say...
