This was a bed that was finished in September 2010. It is a real simple looking bed but that was what made it so great. It gave it a real contemporary feel to it. The two-tone color broke up the plainness to it.
The trundle is a recent design that I can up with that could be shipped UPS. It is a strong design that uses dowels and draw type bolts for assembly. In this redesign I eliminated the bulky ends of the bed and left them open.
The blue I had matched in a lacquer. I use the lacquer because of its durability, and dry time. With a faster dry time I am able to recoat faster and less likely to have anything settle in the finish.
Wood: Maple
Color: Benjamin Moore Patriot Blue (2064-10)
Finish: Medium sheen Pre-Catalyzed Lacquer on all natural Maple parts.
This is what make is worth it. Here is a email from the customer: “Thank you. We just set it up. It looks awesome. Truly beautiful. Many Many thanks.”

I really like the trundle bed. YOu can’t even tell it’s there when the bed is closed.
