Hope I can call this a segmented bowl< I did get three layers to fit. Last of the bowls for awhile, I will have a rest from the ply wood, has been fun and interesting using a new medium for the first time. Pict. 4. shows the ply wood as I salvaged it from a shipping pallet. I have since found the cross beams which are the same quality bit only 1” thick. Pict 5 2 rows of segments glued to the base board that has been smoothed on the lathe, I hadn’t decided whether to put the third row on or not Pict 6 my version of clamping, pretty primitive and will update once I start doing segments projects. David, I read an article on the net and ply wood is similar to using laminated woods.

Would have never thought of this use. Great idea and salvageable wood is always good
