I have been in need of a router table lately and have limited space in my tiny shop so I decided to build an extension to my table saw. I built the frame out of some scrap white oak, a piece of MDF that was laying around and I found some matte finish Formica at my local Habitat for Humanity for $1. Now this was a project I could actually afford! I will be starting on the fence sometime this week. I will eventually add a router plate, when I find just the right one at the right price, until then I will deal with the router being mounted direct. I also plan to add some other upgrades as I need them or as time allows.

MOwood,
That is a GREAT job. I would like to do the same. Do you have any concerns about it staying flat? I’ll tell you, those of you that get out and do something make those like me feel pretty bad about myself!!!
Again, that looks great.

Looks really good. I’m in the process of doing the same thing. This type of router set up is a must in a small shop. We need to squeeze out as much usage as we can from our small work areas. Good luck with the fence.

Really nice work. I need me one of these. I have a small shop and all the room matters.
