Since I started making my tables , I’ve liked making the steel legs to go with them , and the different looks that each set give them. When I first started making the legs it was all flat bar or tube steel , because I thought trying to make hairpin legs would be too difficult . Well I’ve discovered that not only is it much cheaper , but very satisfying to learn something new . The prices of a set of 4 15” is about 40 – 50 $ and a set of 27” are about 70 -80 $ , and I can buy 100 ’ of 3/8” rolled steel for around $ 30 . Here’s a couple of pictures of some of the tables I’ve shown with the new hairpin legs

Tables look good. How do you mount the table to the legs? Do you weld on a plate?

Great looking tables. I am impressed that you make the metal legs yourself.

In general, not specific to your tables, I am kind of torn on the hairpin legs. On one side I think they are great for hiding themselves and just letting the slab shine. On the other side they just (to me) never seem like they are a part of the table.

Look great! How are you making the legs? Maybe its my eyes or PC, but I can’t tell if those are bent or welded at the bottom?

Have your say...
