I believe someone posted one of these a while ago, but this is my version.
I decided to build a few of these for Christmas gifts. The design is based on an antebellum original found at the Gamble Plantation in Florida which was an active plantation during the mid 1800’s.
I built them from walnut, stained with Minwax red mahogany, followed my a coat of Watco Danish Oil in medium walnut. Then about 3 coats of semi-gloss polyurethane.
I did make a few of the candle holders out of copper, but decided I wasnt a metal worker so ended up salvaging a few holders from an old candelabrum and used those instead.

An interesting candle holder, I’m going to file this away for future reference, thanks!

Very nice! I’m actually working on a pair of these out of walnut. I’m thinking of just doing the natural danish oil and some paste wax on them. I’ll post pics when I finally get them finished up.
