This is a captains bed that I made for my son. The base has three sections, a set of drawers, a book shelf, and a secret compartment that is accessible from under the mattress. The three sections can be positioned to allow the bed to be against any wall and still have access to the drawers and book shelf.
There is one thing I would do different on this bed if I built another. I would make it a little lighter.
The bats are ash, the bed is plywood with poplar trim.

OK, I give up! Where is it? Under all the clothes, etc.? jk! That is very creative. The idea of modular is great- no hassle in positioning the bed in the room. The bats are what make it unique IMHO. Thanks for sharing. BTW, did you have plans or is it your own deisgn?

Well done Jeep.
I built one for my daughter a couple of year ago.
The bats are a unique touch.

Knothead, I drew it out first and then made it, so it was my own design. I could get a better picture of it, once he moves out, there will not be clothes all over it.:-)
Thanks Henry.
