I’ve been using my IPhone a lot to take pictures and it does a pretty good job, So i’ve been wanting to make something to attach it to a regular camera tripod and I came up with a really simple solution that works great. I used a small threaded brass insert on the bottom block of wood for the mounting screw on the tripod to thread into, but only screwing it half-way into the insert. I used some quarter inch threaded rod with a wing nut on top to form a simple clamp with the upper block of wood. The upper block just has a 1/4 inch hole drilled through it so it can move up and down, but the block is thick enough to keep it straight. I gust cut a couple of matching grooves the thickness of my phone. So you just slide the phone in the slots and tighten the wingnut. Works like a charm!

Good thing I don’t have an IPhone! I don’t have any more room on my project list!
Ingenious, nice and simple.

Great idea, Mike…One day we may see someone manufacturing this little ’iClamp’ concept… and most certainly from plastic and fitting other phone models as well.

Quick get a patent! If only it wasn’t so expensive to do so.

A very practical, & great solution for those who use their phone for this purpose.

Looks like a good solution to a common problem. The plastic ones I am seeing are spring loaded and all look like they will drop an expensive phone…
