320 days ago I started a blog called “Beech Wickerish cabinet”. I did 3 parts to the series and never got back to it. http://lumberjocks.com/kolwdwrkr/blog/12574 Well, I never forgot about the project and recently decided to finish it. The cabinet is maple, the wicker (sp?) is beech strips, and the mouse is cherry. I carved the mouse and Heidi painted it. She is very good at tole painting, and did a great job on the mouse. She also decided to add whiskers, which are paint brush bristles. It was a nice touch.
The cabinet was built for my spices. I have a pull out next to the stove that is very difficult to pull out. Since I rent I didn’t want to fix it. LOL.
As always I welcome constructive criticism, positive or negative.

No criticism here – it’s such a unique touch – but I’m afraid that cute little mouse will surely take the attention away from the great work of the cabinet!

this is awesome.
I think I’d jump every time I saw that mouse – it looks so real.
At first I thought it was the door handle and that really gave me the shivers… and then I saw that the door opened the other way.. phew :)
Great job. – the cabinet, the mouse, the painting, and the whiskers.
