Not much challenging with this one. Build all from pine from the local borg, but it was my 2nd project assignment in Hand Tool School.
Funny how it takes an assignment to build something that you need instead of saying “I’ll just do it this way and clean up the mess I make later.
Not perfect fits on the lap joints, but very close. the 1×12 pine board at the borg was challenging to get square as it was in really rough shape even though it was the pick of the litter.
More thoughts are on my blog if interested :)
Thanks for looking.

Don’t feel bad – I STILL have trouble with those joints straight from the saw. Good starting point.

Looks nice to me. What is Hand Tool school? Something online or an in person school? I need to build a sawbench as well!

It’s classes for those wanting to learn how to use handtools. You can read more at Renaissance WoodWorker’s site (renaissancewoodworker.com). Sorry I don’t know how to do links here from my iPhone.

Nice bench there. I’m in that “been meaning to make one for ages” camp too. I’ve got one of those folding black and decker workmate benches, which are a good height for sawing, but rubbish for ripsawing (unlike your bench). I’m sure you’ll get a lot of use out of it.
Have your say...
