Sapelle Painting Frame

Another frame, this time it’s made of quartersawn sapelle. It measures about 3’ by 2’ and has mortise and tennon joinery that is pinned with walnut dowels. It has champfers on both the inside and outside edges. The finish is 4 coats of Minwax spray can lacquer satin finish.

these frames fit the paintings perfectly. Good choice on the Purple heart. I’m glad you didnt do a over complicated frame. I get a very calming feeling from looking at the painting, and a busy frame would just mess that up! Great job, cant wait to see more projects! Welcome to Lumberjocks!
