So here’s this week’s update for the woodworking show I am doing in Virgina:

My crafts will be featured at the 2010 Winter crafts show at Wakefield Park on Saturday, December 4th (9AM-4PM) and Sunday, December 5th (10AM-3:30PM). The address is: Audrey Moore RECenter, Wakefield Park, 8100 Braddock Rd., Annandale, VA 22003, 703-321-7082.

This is an update on some hand mirrors I have been working on… So far I have 11 of these, in rough stages. I intend to sell 10 of them and keep one for myself.

Four made of walnut, three made of maple and four made of dark Birdseye maple (all featured in the photos).

the flowers are made of bloodwood, purpleheart, yellowheart and myrtle. I am not a big fan of how the myrtle flower looks with the bloodwood stem so i’ll probably make a bunch of stems with walnut and myrtle for the other mirrors. I think I’ll stick with roses this year. I thought about doing different types of flowers, but the roses look really nice.

These mirrors are in the rough stages. I have to sand them (gotta get rid of the router burn marks), glue the flowers, apply finish and glue in the mirrors. Almost there. Shouldn’t take much longer.

I’ll post some bandsaw boxes with their finish on later (hopefully tonight).

4 weeks till show time. Wish me luck

Neat mirrors, I like the touch with the flowers.

Very, very nice.

Where did you get the pattern for the roses?

I like them! Since we are so close to Christmas, 10 may not be near enough.

Thanks closet guy! I’ve been reading your show blog :) Lots of great advice, thanks for posting it.

I figure 10 might not be enough but i have around 100 Christmas ornaments, 3 Nativity Christmas ornament sets (Kathy Wise 12 piece set), 25 bottle stoppers, 10 mirrors, 7 photo frames, and hopefully 5 band saw boxes. I hope that’s enough :D
