The blog tells more about the construction of the Cajon Drum.
http://lumberjocks.com/PaBull/blog/19101
This is a birthday present for my son (He made the drawing for it, without knowing where it was for). I found some nice structural designs on line and made my own final design.
1/2” plywood free from a friend. $0
Drum snares from the Guitar Center $10
Feet (I used door stops) from Lowe’s $8
Making a birthday gift priceless

Bearpie, I did not get it yet. The big day will be Sunday. I will keep you posted.
Mads, thanks for the hug, I needed it.
Thanks Alda. I was impressed myself. I can’t wait to see how he will react.

Yes Millo and Houtje, I agree.
Thanks Debbie.
Todd, it sound reasonable. If I would make an other one, I would use 1/8” instead of 1/4 for the face.

That came out great. I really like the artwork too. Did you just scan that and print it out on iron on paper?

Swirt, I used Bel's Laser Clear Waterslide Decal Paper from www.carolcreations.biz
It is not too hard to do. I could post a blog on it if people are interested. Lemeno!
Be good, Pabull.

This is going on my to do list and getting bumped to the top, Thanks for the post, I love the drum and I’m sure your son will to. I also make Native American hide Drums, but I have been wanting to do a wooden drum for a long time and this looks like it just the one, so I might be asking some questions if I find myself stuck.
Have a peaceful day.

Joey, I am so happy I was able to help you with this post. Let me know how yours turns out.
I have a drum that is in need of skin, could you help me?
Be well, Pabull.
