Pillory for Pirate Festival

This pillory I made for an event that is themed around pirates in the Northwest. The events gather around 3,000 people at times so something genuine is justified to be built. I made this out of standard pine boards, 2×4s, 2×6s, and 4×4s. It’s the most complex thing I’ve made so far being new to woodworking and this project could be a bit more fine tuned.

I still need to make feet for it as the first version was based in a large and heavy platform base that was hard to move and transport. The pillory is full sized and operational, fit to house one guilty person and hold them while others take pictures and hit them with cream pies (I’m serious that’s the worse the punishments got).

It was a good time, it isn’t tight enough to be uncomfortable and yet it still holds pretty well! Lol

Have your say...
