Maple Vase w/bark inclusion

Haven’t posted in a while, but here’s one of my latest turnings. It’s around 8 inches tall and is another piece of maple that I salvaged from my father’s firewood pile.

I liked how the bark inclusion fit into some of the natural figure on this piece.

Thanks everyone. The finish is General Finishes seal-a-cell over a walnut tinted danish oil. Was mostly an experiment, but I like the result over some other dyes I have tried.

Nice vase I like the shape. Figured maple always captures my imagination, it is like looking at a hologram you can see into the wood.
