This is just a personal project I wanted to craft. Its my Tea box. I like cutting hand cut dovetails and wanted to do something that would modify the already beautiful look of dovetails. This was it.

very nice, i like the way you cut the dovetails to flow with the curves of the box. I am looking forward to learning how to do this myself.

Great looking box, very unique.

Anthony,
it looks as though the dovetails where cut first, then when put together the curve was cut out giving the illusion that it was cut after the curve was made.

sorry for the late response. Yes I crafted the dovetailed box square and then coved it out after. The only problem I found is that the end grain like always is the case will tend to tear out when coping it after the fact. I’ve since managed to figure it out how to avoid that, unfortunately this is the only one I have in my possession to upload a photo of lol.. Its the first and worst…perhaps that’s why I kept it.

I need to get my trapezoid box uploaded now that I look at this again! Think Pyramid with dovetailed corners! :P

This is great can you please post a picture of the inside? I would like to see teh other side, hand-cut dovetails have always mystified me, I would love some advice.
