The base was cut from 3/4” plywood. The stars and stripes were individually cut and painted. The helmet was a real one cut in half and a picture of a fire was inserted in the face shield. The gloves were real supported by a wire frame. The ax handle was carved from red oak and the ax head was carved from poplar and painted.
