It’s that time of the year again for our church’s Silent Auction/Lawn Fete. This year I made this simple bench of cherry and hickory. The sap wood stripe was a big hit. I’m not a big fan of the water base finishes, however the natural look of cherry is mighty pretty. General Finishes topped the bench off then three coats of wax. The bench brought in $110.

I can see why it was a big hit, the hickory stretcher is as nice as the top

I like the sap on Cherry. I love the gum deposits and streaks better though.

That is a steal for $110 but for a good cause. I love the grain and sapwood very nice work.
